Two or three hand-blown glass pendant lights can define a kitchen island, but the right arrangement starts with the space beneath them. This guide helps you prepare a clear brief for a coordinated Glassio Studio set.
Start with the island, not the number of lights
Measure the island length and width, ceiling height, and the positions of existing electrical points. Note the sink, hob, seating, and any cabinets or shelves nearby. Take a straight-on photo and one from the side so the arrangement can be considered from the places where you cook, sit, and enter the room.
A pair gives each design more visual space. A trio creates a repeated rhythm, but the glass must still have room around it. A broad globe and a narrow stacked pendant can feel very different even when both are sold in the same diameter.
Compare clear gaps as well as diameters
Mark the proposed glass widths on the island with paper circles or removable tape. Check the clear space between the shades, the distance to each end, and the view across the room. Measure from the widest part of the glass, not just the suspension cord.
For example, a 240 cm island could be sketched with three 20 cm shades, two 50 cm gaps between their edges, and 40 cm at either end. This is a layout example, not a fixed installation rule. Adjust the plan to the fixture shape, island depth, seating, and your installer’s requirements.
Choose a design that suits the room
For a quieter palette, explore the Smoky Gray Fluted Glass Pendant Light. Its ribbed globe gives a matching pair or trio texture without introducing several strong colors.
For a more colorful focal point, consider the Blue Geometric Glass Pendant Light with Green Stem. Keep the same design across the island, or discuss a coordinated color sequence with the studio before ordering.
Browse the full hand-blown glass pendant collection to compare silhouettes. Check each listing’s available sizes; the dimensions of one design do not automatically apply to another.
Confirm the complete hanging drop
The glass height, cord length, and complete ceiling-to-bottom drop are different measurements. Send the desired installed drop together with the ceiling height. For a sloped ceiling or a shared canopy, include a drawing or photo and ask us to confirm the available arrangement.
Your installer should confirm electrical points, mounting, clearances, and local requirements. Do not choose a cord length until the fixture’s full dimensions and the installation plan are clear.

Start with a design, then confirm the arrangement
These product pages provide starting points for a coordinated kitchen-island layout:
- Clear ribbed glass pendant with amber accent
- Purple and green globe pendant
- Colorful stacked glass pendant arrangement
A photograph showing several lights does not establish what a selected purchase option includes. Confirm the number of pendants, individual diameters, drop lengths and canopy arrangement before ordering.
