Featured image: a room visualization for inspiration. Use the confirmed measurements of your chosen pendant when planning its size and hanging drop.
A pendant should suit the proportions of your room and the way you use it. At Glassio Studio, many designs offer several glass diameters, while the height and shape vary from one design to another. Start with the space, then choose the fixture.
1. Measure the space you are lighting
For a kitchen island or dining table, note the length and width of the surface. For a bedside pendant, measure the nightstand and the space around the bed. Also record your ceiling height, the position of the electrical point, and any nearby doors, cupboards, or window frames.
Take a straight-on photo and a wider room photo. These help us understand the scale and coordinate the lighting with your furniture.
2. Separate diameter from height
The diameter in a size menu describes the width of the glass. It does not automatically describe the height of the whole fixture or the distance from the ceiling.
- Glass diameter: the width of the main glass section.
- Fixture height: the glass and fixed hardware, which vary by design and size.
- Total hanging drop: the complete installed distance from the ceiling to the lowest point, including the suspension.
A stacked pendant can be much taller than a single globe of the same diameter. Ask us to confirm the full dimensions of your chosen size before ordering.
3. Compare sizes in your room
Many of our pendant listings offer 6, 8, 10, 12, and 14-inch diameters. The choices shown on the individual listing are the available options for that design.
Cut paper circles to the diameters you are considering and hold them in the intended position. Compare the view from the doorway and from where you will sit. This simple check is particularly useful when deciding between 10 and 12 inches.
For a set, consider the combined presence of all the pendants, the spacing between them, and the available ceiling points. A mock-up can help you decide whether you prefer a lighter arrangement or a stronger statement.
4. Plan the hanging length
Tell us the total drop you want, measured from the ceiling to the bottom of the fixture. Adjustable cords and custom hanging arrangements are available for many designs, but the exact options depend on the model. Confirm them before ordering, especially for a high ceiling, a shared canopy, or a bedside installation.
Your installer should confirm the mounting position, clearances, and suitability of the electrical connection for your space.
5. Send us a simple project brief
Include the design link, preferred diameter, quantity, ceiling height, desired total drop, room photos, delivery country, and any installation deadline. We can then discuss the available options and clarify the dimensions.

Diameter alone does not determine clearance. Confirm the complete fixture height and ceiling-to-bottom drop for your selected size before purchasing.
